Play On: Open Submissions
Play On are seeking submissions of new work to be considered for an upcoming development week at Brighton Dome this September. We are keen to hear from as many artists, writers and creators of new work as possible across Brighton!
Who you are:
A writer or artist with a BN postcode that has an idea or a script that would benefit from development (NB: this doesn’t have to be a finished script or complete idea at this stage, but something that would have the potential to be a full length piece in the future)
What to submit:
The work must be new (never previously performed) and be intended for theatre – think theatre in its broadest terms, all genres and forms welcome, from monologues to immersive work.
What you will get:
- Dedicated development time with dramaturgical support from Play On’s award winning team
- In person R & D time at the Dome with professional actors and director
- A private & public sharing of your work to gather audience and industry feedback
What we need from you:
An outline of your idea or short script excerpt. By all means send a full script if you have it, but at this stage there is no pressure to.
Deadline: The submissions window will be open from 1st – 31st July – please send your work to submissions AT playontheatre.co.uk with your name and the title of the submission in the subject line.
Please note that while we are seeking funding, this is currently an unfunded development opportunity.
